Israel announced that they are cutting telecommunications to and from Gaza. This means that it is only going to get worse. Massacres happen this way. Genocide happens this way.
If they weren’t going to commit heinous war crimes that they didn’t want the rest of the world to know, they wouldn’t need to cut any connection Gaza has with the outside world. They wouldn’t have to mute the Palestinian people if what they are doing was acceptable morally or legally.
Reports that the Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and U.S. President Barack Obama have been in contact with one another. Also, reports claim that Egyptian tanks and military personnel are gathering in the Sinai Desert.
On September 11, remember ALL the victims of US imperial policy, especially those Barack Obama is slaughtering, torturing, dismembering, illegally detaining, disfiguring, bombing, orphaning, harassing, widowing, and leaving hopeless. For all you willfully blind Obama supporters, giddy after the DNC’s pretty light show, remember that all of posterity will judge you for your actions in light of the knowledge you had at this time. When your intellectual allergy to facts and information can no longer provide you enough protection against your conscience, how will you look at yourself in the mirror? Your precious sense of convenience will not fucking hold up against the screams of incinerated children
The military suicide rate doubled in July. That’s one of our troops, almost every day.
To come up with an answer, the Army recently gave 3 million dollars to a university of Indiana research center, and those researchers came back with this: Anti-Suicide Nasal Spray.
Katie Drummond of The Daily reports researchers found a naturally occuring neurochemical called thyrotropin-releasing hormone, or TRH, that has euphoric, calming, anti-depressant effects. News of the nasal spray comes as a relief to some, who had to endure spinal taps for injections of the medicine.
The Pentagon, which tracks military suicides, reported that troops have committed the act at an 18 percent increase over the same period last year. Now, more troops die by their own hands than by the hands of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The spray is only possible because of advances in “nanotechnology delivery systems.” Researchers plan to run a full battery of trials over the next few years, and hopefully put the spray not only in the hands of soldiers, but civilians as well.
creepy as fuck
“please don’t kill yourself we need you to kill others”
proof our civilization has collapsed into utter madness
The little-known 1987 law under which the diplomatic status of an embassy can be revoked was introduced following the 11-day 1984 Libyan Embassy siege, when an armed gunman who shot and killed WPC Yvonne
Fletcher from the building was allowed to escape under the umbrella of diplomatic immunity.
Carl Gardner, a former government lawyer, said the law was specifically designed to stop acts of terrorism of other breaches of international law within a foreign embassy, which Ecuador was not guilty of.
As a result, he said, Britain could be in breach of the Vienna Convention, which protects the status over embassies and diplomats, if it sought to use the law to send police into the Ecuadoran embassy. He said: “We are in uncharted territory here.”
I am listening to some things American anti-war activist and socialist Cindy Sheehan is saying. Please click here to read an article about what she identifies as (I take it) a major mechanism in global class warfare:
There are probably three wacky conspiracy theories for every one realistic account of the Bohemian Club. It doesn’t help that what happens every summer at the Club’s “Grove” campground along the forested banks Russian River in Sonoma County includes a bizarre mix of silly druidic rituals that only feed the rumor mill of Satanism and sexcapades. The proliferation of wacky stories about the Grove gathering are unfortunate because the truth about the Bohemian Club is fascinating and important, especially today with the entire nation focused on growing inequality and the undermining of democratic processes by the wealthy elite.
The Occupy Movement has revived a once annual counter-mobilization against the infamous summer camp for the 1%, and so this year, as they did throughout the 1980s and 1990s, activists with the Bohemian Grove Action Network hope to subject the Club and its members to intense public scrutiny in order to talk about what the Club really is.
For those who don’t know, the Bohemian Club began in 1872 as an artists and writers society with its own wilderness retreat, a place men could drink beer alongside each other, fraternize over art and philosophy, and urinate outdoors in the duff. The Club was soon colonized by San Francisco’s nouveau riche businessmen, mostly bankers, lawyers, merchants, and construction magnets who were accumulating enormous fortunes by monopolizing real estate, cattle, agriculture, financial services, and other needs enormously stimulated by the Gold Rush.
I think it’s important to read and discuss this because, in my view, the ‘ruling class’ benefits immensely from the conspiracy theory industry: all claims and analyses re: their corruption or war crimes or orchestrated attempts to expand or maintain power are too often easily dismissed as ‘conspiracy theories’ and the outspoken labeled as ‘crazy’ without any engagement with the content of the claims. Obviously this provides a layer of protection that neutralizes the most important mechanism for social change: the flow of information that informs the beliefs, actions, and class/social consciousness of the people .
A remedy for this state of affairs can be found in articles like the one linked above, and the scholarly or journalistic projects of those concerned to really bring about clarity in information, history, politics, and economics—without such a remedy true change, or reform, or revolution will be impossible.
We all have gifts to give. This is true right now, and we can begin to give them by employing our talents in the service of revolution, because we are all capable of giving and receiving love.
In the United States, our streets don’t (yet) look like those in Spain, or Mexico, or Montreal, or Saudi Arabia, or…
but every gathering, every protest, every strike, every lie called out for what it is, every scream against injustice, every revolt against brutality, is itself a revolutionary act and adds fire to where revolution begins, in our hearts.
It is so important that all of us, you, me your family and friends enter into this revolution now - to talk with each other, read research speak out & educate, to organize strike & protest, and start to live out the world we want to see in the (near) future. We can do this: we will demand and create a world where we are all equals, where endless war is against suffering (not those people ‘over there’), and where we can live the human lives we earnestly desire to live.
